I walked into the dank café. At first it seemed trivial to me that such an object would catch my attention. Suddenly it occurred to me why it was trivial. There was absolutely no one in the café except for me, a man in a wet, beige trench coat coming in from the rain as I had, and the waitress in her turquoise shirted, black panted uniform, hair pinned back and an extra pencil on her ear. The reason it, the mirror meant to make the small location seem taller, was trivial was because there were four people in the mirror.
